The FLCRC team of doctors is a highly trained, experienced and diversified group who share a common desire to transform patients’ lives and the horizon of tomorrow’s medical treatments.

Previously operating as CORE Research, FLCRC was founded in May 1998 by Andrew J. Cutler, M.D. and is dedicated to the highest quality pharmaceutical research conducted by a topnotch team of medical professionals.

Andrew J. Cutler, M.D. founded Florida Clinical Research Center (FLCRC) in 1998 with the mission of performing the highest quality pharmaceutical research.

EDUCATION

Dr. Cutler was graduated from Haverford College in Pennsylvania and received his MD degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 1989.  He completed Internship and Residencies in both Psychiatry and Internal Medicine at the University of Virginia Medical Center and served as Chief Resident in the Department of Psychiatric Medicine.  He  has been Board Certified in both Psychiatry and Internal Medicine and has been  conducting clinical research since 1993 at the University of Virginia, the University of Chicago, and since 1996 in Central Florida.  Dr. Cutler also  speaks to professional and community audiences about the evaluation and treatment of mental illnesses such as ADHD, Bipolar Disorder (Manic-Depression), Major Depression, Anxiety Disorders and Schizophrenia.

HONORS

In addition to being the CEO and Medical Director of FLCRC, Dr. Cutler is a Courtesy Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Florida. Dr. Cutler regularly authors scientific publications in respected medical journals and presents his research at scientific meetings around the world. He serves on scientific and pharmaceutical Editorial and Advisory Boards and performs peer reviews of articles to help with their publication.  He teaches and lectures doctors and other health care professionals and is in great demand as a public speaker.  Dr. Cutler received the “Distinguished Clinical Professional Award” by the Central Florida chapter of the National Mental Health Association in 1999.  He was also selected as a Top Doctor by Orlando magazine in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007.

INDICATIONS

He conducts clinical trials for Phase I-IV studies. Indications include ADHD in children, adolescents and adults, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and other neuropsychiatric and medical conditions.

LOCATION

Dr. Cutler is the Principal Investigator at the Bradenton, Florida location , and oversees operations at the other FLCRC sites.

Richard D. Knapp, D.O. PDF Print E-mail

Richard D. Knapp, D.O. has been with Florida Clinical Research Center since 2001 as a Sub-Investigator and Principal Investigator.

Dr. Knapp obtained his doctorate at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1971 and is licensed in both Florida and Pennsylvania.  Dr. Knapp received his post-graduate training at Tri-County Osteopathic Hospital, Belmont Behavioral Health, University of Pennsylvania, Jefferson Medical College and Medical College of Pennsylvania. Dr. Knapp is Board Certified in Psychiatry and Addictions Psychiatry and has been practicing psychiatry since 1975.

INDICATIONS

Primary indications include depression, anxiety, ADHD, alcohol dependency or other addictions, insomnia, schizophrenia, pain, Alzheimer’s disease, bipolar disorder, migraine headache, women’s health, obesity and general medicine.

LOCATION

Dr. Knapp is a Primary Investigator at the Maitland, Florida location as well as the Primary Investigator at our newest inpatient facility located at Central Florida Behavioral Hospital in Orlando, Florida.

Jeffrey A. Danziger, M.D. PDF Print E-mail

Jeffrey A. Danziger, M.D. has been with Florida Clinical Research Center since 2004 as a Sub-Investigator and Principal Investigator.

Dr. Danziger obtained his Bachelor's of Arts degree in Biology at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1978 and his doctorate at the University of Miami School of Medicine in 1982 and is licensed in the State of Florida. He received his post-graduate training at Washington University/Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri and has held many positions as Professor, Medical Director and President of Florida Psychiatric Society.

HONORS

Orlando Magazine awarded Dr. Danziger one of the Top Doctors in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004. He was listed in the Guide to America's Top Physicians in 2003 and 2004, as well as Doctors Across America Top Doctors in 2002, plus many other outstanding honors.

INDICATIONS

Dr. Danziger has been practicing psychiatry since 1983 and is board Certified in Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry and Addictions.

Eduard Gfeller, M.D. PDF Print E-mail

Eduard Gfeller, M.D. has been with Florida Clinical Research Center since 2006 as a Sub-Investigator and Principal Investigator.

EDUCATION

Dr. Gfeller received his medical training at the University of Bern, Switzerland and worked in Neuroscience at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore prior to obtaining training in Psychiatry at the Sheppard – Pratt Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He held positions at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, University of Florida in Gainesville and University of South Florida in Tampa as Professor of Psychiatry and Chief of Psychiatry at the respective Veterans Hospitals. He was Medical Director for Behavioral Health for Orlando Regional Healthcare for 10 years prior to returning to the VA at the Orlando Outpatient Clinic.

INDICATIONS

Primary indications include depression, anxiety, ADHD, insomnia, schizophrenia, pain, Alzheimer’s disease, bipolar disorder and migraine headache.

LOCATION

Dr. Gfeller is Principal Investigator at our Maitland (Orlando) outpatient location.

Jose Zaglul, M.D. PDF Print E-mail

Jose Zaglul, M.D. has been associated with Florida Clinical Research Center since 2004 as a Sub-Investigator and Principal Investigator.

Dr. Zaglul graduated Medical School from the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic in 1986. He pursued post graduate studies in General Psychiatry at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain from 1986 until 1989 and completed residency training in Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of South Florida in Tampa. He is Board Certified in General Psychiatry and in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

INDICATIONS

His main areas of studies and interest are attention deficit disorder (ADHD) and other behavioral disorders of childhood, Tourette disorder, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

LOCATION

Dr. Zaglul is the Chief Medical Officer at Manatee Glens Corporation, a comprehensive Community Mental Health Center in Bradenton, Florida. He is a Clinical Associate Professor in Psychiatry at Lake Erie College of Medicine in Bradenton and Voluntary Clinical Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Services of the University of South Florida in Tampa.

Dr. Northcutt obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at the University of Warwick, UK in 2000 and her doctorate in Child Psychology at the University of Sheffield, UK in 2004.

INDICATIONS

Primary indications include depression, anxiety, ADHD, insomnia, bipolar disorder, Alzheimer’s disease and migraine headache. Her main areas of interest and research are ADHD and other behavioral disorders of childhood and child/adolescent cognitive                                                                 impairment.

LOCATION

Dr. Northcutt is both a Principal Investigator and Sub-Investigator on various clinical trials at our Maitland (Orlando) outpatient location.
